Mariana is a dancer who dreams of leaving town alongside her brother, Paulo's henchman, who is missing and being pursued by the police chief. This situation ties Hélio's to Mariana's destiny, who remains trapped in a life of cyclical actions and frustrations, forcing her to immerse in representations as if they constituted all reality. On his journey, the police chief befriends the girl, tries to help her, but they can't escape a brutal clash of interests, which leads both of them, and the city as a whole, to a tragic end.
